Our perspective was shaped by years spent working directly with fleet technology and the people who rely on it.
Our roots are built on more than 20 years of experience in the GPS tracking, telematics, location-based technology, and fleet management solutions.
Before Fleetomizer, our founders built and developed businesses and technology solutions across these industries, gaining firsthand experience with the challenges of managing vehicle fleets and integrating the technologies used to monitor them.
Through that experience, we worked with technologies capable of providing remarkable operational visibility — showing where vehicles were, how they were being driven, how long they had been operating, whether routes were being followed, and whether events such as speeding, aggressive acceleration, unauthorized use, or potential incidents were occurring.
Over the years, however, we began to recognize an important gap.
Around 2018, this gap became increasingly important to us.
Companies were investing hundreds or thousands of dollars in technologies capable of tracking nearly every aspect of fleet activity. Yet when managers wanted to understand the financial side of their fleet operations, the same level of visibility often did not exist.
Accounting systems could show how much had been spent. Fuel systems could provide transactions. Maintenance records could show repairs and services. Telematics platforms could provide mileage, routes, utilization, and driver behavior. But the information was fragmented.
Fleet expenses were often mixed with other company expenses and spread across invoices, spreadsheets, accounting categories, fuel records, maintenance systems, and operational platforms. The books could be perfectly balanced and still leave management without a clear understanding of the economics of an individual vehicle or the fleet as a whole.
What is the actual cost per mile or kilometer of a specific vehicle?
What is its Total Cost of Ownership, and what expenses make up that cost?
How much maintenance spending is associated with oil changes, tires, brakes, or specific repairs?
Do fuel purchases make sense compared with distance traveled, consumption, and tank capacity?
Which vehicles are becoming increasingly expensive to operate?
Where exactly is the fleet's money going?
After years of working with fleet technology from the operational side, we saw an opportunity to bring that same level of visibility to fleet costs.
Operational improvements should create financial benefits. But those benefits also need to be visible and measurable.
As technology integrators, we spent years helping fleets address operational questions: How can we reduce speeding? Detect aggressive driving? Improve route compliance? Better utilize vehicles? Identify possible crashes or unauthorized use?
Telematics and fleet technology had become extremely sophisticated at answering these questions. Logically, improvements in routing, driver behavior, utilization, maintenance, and fuel consumption should produce financial benefits.
But another challenge remained: How do you actually measure those benefits in dollars?
Knowing that an operational improvement should reduce costs is different from being able to see, measure, and demonstrate that reduction. That realization became part of the foundation for Fleetomizer.
Fleetomizer began with a straightforward idea: create a better way to record and organize expenses by vehicle.
The initial concept was essentially a vehicle-centered documentation and expense-recording tool. But as we continued working with fleet data, the idea evolved.
Recording an expense was useful. Understanding why the expense occurred, what category it belonged to, which vehicle generated it, how it related to mileage and utilization, how it compared with previous periods, and how it contributed to the vehicle's total cost was far more valuable.
Organize documents and expenses around the individual vehicle.
Connect expenses with categories, utilization, maintenance, fuel, and operational context.
Transform fleet expense data into actionable cost intelligence and measurable cost-control opportunities.
A clearer picture of fleet economics — from the entire operation down to the individual vehicle.
Fleetomizer brings together the financial and operational information needed to build a clearer picture of fleet costs.
Instead of seeing fleet expenses only as totals on a financial statement, Fleetomizer is designed to help organizations understand the composition, behavior, and drivers of those costs.
Because knowing what your fleet costs is important. Understanding why it costs what it does is where better decisions begin.
